Snowy 2.0 – Pumped Hydro

Location: Kosciuszko National Park, New South Wales

The Snowy 2.0 – Pumped hydro project is a  hydroelectric storage and generation project. It involves the construction of a series of 27 kilometres of concrete-lined tunnels that will connect the existing Tantangara and Talbingo reservoirs located within the Snowy Scheme in New South Wales.

Tunnelling activities form a major part of this project. We were appointed to manage the marine risks on all the critical shipments for this project

Various risk assessments on transport methodologies, lift plans, route analysis, etc. were carried out to ensure the seamless transportation of very large and costly critical shipments from around the world to Port Kembla, Australia.

Our involvement extended from the manufacturers’ premises to the construction site using our own local and international Marine warranty surveyors.

We worked closely with the client to ensure that both the insurers and customer requirements were complied with.
